"Three Crickets" is inspired by the tiny creatures of the prairies - and our backyards. I always loved catching these critters when I was little and noticing their different markings and colors. This particular grasshopper is the Sword Bearing Conehead - native to the Illinois prairies. I like to refer to these little creatures as "green crickets."  Printed on white thick cotton paper with tan and brown inks from a hand carved Shina wood block sourced from a sustainable forest in Hokkaido, Japan. Created by reduction process in 3 layers carved on one woodblock. Created by reduction process in 3 layers carved on one woodblock. Title, artist signature, edition number, and year of production appear on front of each print.
